Maharashtra will take legal action against Patanjali if they advertise or sell anti-Corona drug

Since the day Patanjali Ayurved first announced that they have found cure for the deadly COVID-19 virus they have been getting into constant trouble.

First Ayush Ministry put a hold on advertising about Ayurvedic medicines developed for the treatment of COVID-19 by Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, Haridwar (Uttrakhand). Facts of the claim and details of the stated scientific study are not known to the Ministry.

And now The Maharashtra government has stated that they will take action against the company that makes ayurvedic medicines if they promote the anti-COVID drug.

“The Maharashtra government will take legal action against Patanjali if they try to advertise or sell their anti-Corona drug as AYUSH Ministry is yet to approve the medicine,” state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said.

Rajasthan too has stressed that the state won’t permit the sale of the drug without approval from ICMR. “We will not give permission to Patanjali to sell their anti-Corona drug in the state. We will decide once they get approval from the Indian Council of Medical Research,” Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma said.

The Uttarakhand government on Wednesday said that it would be serving a notice to Patanjali for claiming the drug to be a cure for Covid-19 while it had only applied for a licence to manufacture “an immunity booster against cough and fever”.
