Recently the authorities have drafted a proposal of 19.39 crore for the development of the Ambazari historic Lake. Overflowing of this lake is a common during the rainy season. To avoid this, a plan has been prepared for the development and beautification of the lake. This work will be done in 4 phases. As per information, near Ambazari Lake, Metro Rail has erected 14 pillars and a PIL was filed in the Nagpur bench of the High Court in the year 2017 so that the lake overflow during the rains does not create trouble for citizens.
After the HC direction, the Chief Engineer of the Water Supply department examined the spot to understand the security of the Ambazari bund and presented the report. Afterwards a meeting was conducted by the Executive Director of the Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation. In this meeting, it was decided to entrust this work to the watershed department.
