Govt, Pvt establishments to remain closed on Sat, Sun: Municipal Commissioner

All the business premises, educational institutions and also private establishments will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday. Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, has cleared the confusion prevailing among private offices.

Talking to The Live Nagpur, the Municipal Commissioner stated that the order of week end closure is for all.

With the steep rise in COVID 19 positive cases during the last ten days, the municipal authority has taken this decision. It was observed that people are blatantly violating the norms, particularly in markets, malls, restaurants, road-side eateries, marriage and other ceremonies. Action against them has been initiated.

The municipal authority has appealed to the people to remain confined to their homes and not roam freely on streets or plan picnics on these days. The Government officers and banks will already remain closed, because of fourth Saturday and following weekly holiday on Sunday.

Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari has also appealed to the people to stay at home. Tiwari has stated that one infected person can spread infection to 25 others, if enters any crowded place. Only those involved in essential services will be allowed to move.

The efforts are being made to break the chain of the virus. Tiwari has also released a video message and appeal to the people of Nagpur to honestly follow the guidelines and co-operate with the authorities in controlling the further spread of the viral infection.
