The Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) has booked yet another marriage lawns – Ghotra Lawns situated on Kamptee Road, Teka Naka, for violating Covid-19 guidelines issued by NMC and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000/- to its owner Sukhwinder Singh on Tuesday.
The squad visited the place and checked the number of persons participating in the ceremony but found more than 50. Therefore, it imposed a fine for violation of rules.
Recently, the squad had booked five marriage lawns in the city and took action, following directives by Radhakrishnan, Municipal Commissioner, in view of the surge in Omicron/Corona cases in the city. He asked the squad to close down the lawns if found defaulter for the second time.
