A shocking incident of assault took place at the Medical Hospital in Nagpur, where relatives of a patient were allegedly beaten by MRSF (Maharashtra State Reserve Force) personnel. The incident occurred on Monday and a formal complaint has been registered at the police station regarding the matter.
According to the complaint, the patient’s family alleged that MRSF personnel misbehaved and physically attacked them. The dispute began when a woman was talking to her ailing mother-in-law in the hospital. Reports suggest that she had gone to visit her hospitalized relative and was conversing in her local dialect. MRSF personnel, present on duty, allegedly objected to her standing near the vehicle and asked her to move away. When she did not comply immediately, the personnel started arguing and reportedly assaulted the woman along with her relatives.
Eyewitnesses claim that the security personnel first verbally abused the family and later manhandled them. Following the incident, the patient’s son filed a police complaint. Hospital authorities have also been informed, and the police have launched an investigation.
No arrests have been reported yet, but the complaint highlights growing concerns over the behavior of security staff towards patients and their families in government hospitals.
