Flights connecting the city to Kolhapur, Nashik, and Lucknow have been suspended due to low passenger turnout and operational challenges, sources confirmed.
Star Air, which had recently launched its Kolhapur service just two months ago, has now halted the flight owing to poor response. According to insiders, the route failed to attract sufficient passengers from the city, resulting in its suspension.
Meanwhile, IndiGo has withdrawn its services to Nashik and Lucknow, citing unspecified operational difficulties as the reason for the move.
These suspensions come at a time when Nagpur’s Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar International Airport is poised for major upgrades, with development promised by GMR, the airport’s private operator. The recent flight cancellations, however, raise concerns about connectivity even as the airport gears up for expansion.
