The Maharashtra Cabinet has cleared the important proposal for the recruitment of 15,000 police personnel in the state. The demand was being made for a long period.
The cabinet meeting on Tuesday was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The district-wise recruitment, however, was not clear. The decision to employ police personnel, however, is important given the growing crime and pendency of investigation. Several allegations were made against Fadnavis for growing crime in his hometown, Nagpur.
