The Railways has announced the operation of more than 150 Pooja Special trains between September 21 and November 30, 2025. These will run in addition to the 2024 regular services. To cater to the growing demand during the festive period, over 12,000 additional train trips have been planned across the country, ensuring passengers can reach their hometowns comfortably.
Region-wise, South Central Railway will run 48 trains covering stations like Secunderabad and Vijayawada with 684 trips. East Central Railway will operate 14 trains covering Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga, and Muzaffarpur with 588 trips.
East Coast Railway will run 6 trains from Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Visakhapatnam with 198 trips. Western Railway will add 8 trains with 204 trips, while Southern Railway will operate 7 trains with 10 trips. These trains will also connect major cities such as Nagpur, Bilaspur, Raipur, Bhusawal, and Kota.
Passengers can check the full schedule, routes, and booking details on the official Railway websites, IRCTC, and station announcements. To avoid inconvenience, travelers are advised to book tickets only through authorized counters or official online platforms. Railways has also appealed to the public to avoid last-minute crowding and ensure safe and smooth travel.
Meanwhile, Indian Railways has launched “Operation Uplabdh” to crack down on touts and unauthorized agents. Special teams have been deployed during the festive season to curb black marketing of tickets. In Nagpur Division, 54 cases have already been registered, with tickets worth ₹14,74,381 seized along with computers, laptops, and mobile phones used for illegal bookings. Railways has urged passengers to remain alert and purchase tickets only from official sources.
