The rising incidence of seasonal diseases in Nagpur district has become a major concern. Changing weather conditions, accumulation of stagnant water, and lack of cleanliness are contributing to the spread of infections. Cases of dengue, swine flu, chikungunya, and malaria are steadily increasing, creating anxiety among residents.
According to official data, from January to August, Nagpur has recorded 1,148 dengue patients, 27 swine flu cases, 10 chikungunya patients, and 3 malaria patients. Health experts have warned that the numbers may rise further if immediate preventive measures are not taken.
Medical authorities have appealed to the public to maintain hygiene in and around their homes, ensure proper disposal of waste, and avoid accumulation of water in containers and open spaces. Doctors have also emphasized the need to remain alert about symptoms like fever, cough, body pain, throat irritation, and breathing difficulties.
They further advised that citizens should seek medical attention immediately if they experience persistent fever, chills, or fatigue. Timely diagnosis and treatment, coupled with preventive care, can help control the spread of these seasonal illnesses.
