St Ursula Junior College girls outclassed Dinanath Junior College to claim the District Sports Office (DSO)-organised Schools’ Football Championship, held on Monday at the SFS College ground, Seminary Hills.
In a thrilling final, St Ursula edged past Dinanath 3-0 in a tie-breaker, after the match remained goalless during regulation time. Prachi Khillore, Muskan Altami, and Preeti Satlami netted the winning goals for St Ursula.
Earlier in the semifinals, St Ursula defeated BKVV 3-1, while Dinanath overcame Centre Point School, Katol Road 1-0 to secure their place in the title clash.
In the boys’ Under-19 category, Hislop College blanked Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar 2-0 in the semifinals, with Aaraf Khan (17th) and Pranav Nimberte (26th) scoring decisive goals. In the other semifinal, SFS College powered past MKH Sancheti 2-0, courtesy of strikes from Aditya Singh (20th) and Abdul Ansari (26th).
