Central Railway has successfully completed the trial of the first locomotive equipped with the indigenous KAVACH (Train Collision Avoidance System) system in the Nagpur Division.
The trial was conducted on an 11.2-kilometer route between Parasia and Palachauri stations. This milestone marks the initial implementation of KAVACH in Central Railway’s Nagpur Division. The system’s deployment is a significant step aimed at enhancing railway safety and ensuring secure train operations.
During the locomotive trial, key safety features of the KAVACH system were rigorously tested. These features included:
- Prevention of Signal Passed At Danger (SPAD) at stop signals.
- Block Section SOS (Emergency) Generation.
- Station Master SOS (Emergency) Generation.
- Prevention of over-speeding on turnouts.
This initiative is a step towards strengthening safety standards and providing advanced training for the adoption of state-of-the-art technologies.
With this achievement, Central Railway reaffirms its commitment to operational safety, passenger security, and continuous adoption of modern technology for efficient train operations.
