Nagpur: A property dispute escalated into a violent incident under the Hingna police station limits after an accused allegedly opened fire at Gumgaon on Wednesday, December 24. The accused has been identified as Nana Jagnath Deotale, who reportedly fired at his nephew, Pravin Chandrakant Deotale, and Pravin’s friend, Vijay Shankar Manawar, following a dispute over ancestral property.
According to police sources, Pravin sustained a bullet injury to his abdomen, while Vijay was shot in the hand. Both were rushed for medical treatment, and their condition is stated to be stable.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the altercation intensified during a heated argument over property matters. During the scuffle, Pravin allegedly struck the accused with a wooden stick (pavda), following which Nana Devtale opened fire.
Hingna police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the accused. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and recover the firearm used in the crime.
