A 21-year-old youth lost his life in a tragic road accident on New Year’s Eve after falling from a speeding motorcycle in the Ganeshpeth area of Nagpur. The mishap occurred late Tuesday night under the jurisdiction of Ganeshpeth Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Anshul Sudhakar Gavande (21), a resident of Navkanya Nagar, Pardi. He was travelling as a pillion rider on a motorcycle being driven by his friend Rahul Kishan Dhurve (22) when the incident took place around 10.30 pm on December 31, 2025.
According to police, the two-wheeler was being ridden at a high speed in a rash and negligent manner on CA Road near Geetanjali Chowk, opposite SBI. Due to loss of control, Anshul fell onto the road and sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Following a complaint by the victim’s uncle Pradeep Gnaneshwar Ingole, Ganeshpeth Police registered a case against the rider under Sections 281, 105 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 184 and 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further probe is in progress.
