A domestic dispute on New Year’s Eve turned fatal in Yashodhara Nagar when a 33-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband following an argument over money. The accused was arrested by Yashodhara Nagar Police soon after the incident.
The deceased, Rameshwari Devendra Maneshwar (33), originally from Balaghat district in Madhya Pradesh, was residing in Kinkhede Layout, Yashodhara Nagar, Nagpur, along with her husband Devendra Maneshwar (38). Police said the accused frequently suspected his wife and would often harass and assault her after consuming alcohol.
On December 31, 2025, at around 9.30 pm, an argument reportedly broke out over monetary issues. The altercation escalated, during which the accused allegedly assaulted his wife brutally, leaving her unconscious. She was immediately rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared her dead during treatment.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s brother, Ramkishor Madhu Pache, Yashodhara Nagar Police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway.
