As the countdown to polling day begins, the high-voltage campaign for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) General Elections 2025–26 will officially end by 5 pm on January 13. Over the past two weeks, Nagpur has witnessed an intense political battle marked by rallies, public meetings, padayatras, door-to-door canvassing and campaign vehicles dominating neighbourhoods. Sharp allegations and counter-allegations kept the political atmosphere charged till the final hours of campaigning.
With campaigning set to stop on January 13 evening, the focus has now shifted entirely to polling arrangements. The civic administration has said it is fully prepared to conduct voting in a peaceful, transparent and secure manner.
Out of 3,004 polling stations, 321 have been identified as sensitive and will remain under special watch with enhanced police deployment, CCTV surveillance and strict monitoring. Nearly 16,000 election officials and staff, along with 5,000 police personnel, will be deployed across the city to ensure smooth and incident-free polling.
Nagpur will vote across 38 wards to elect 151 corporators. Polling will be held on January 15 from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, while counting will take place on January 16 from 10 am.
With tight security, strong surveillance and detailed planning, Nagpur is set for a closely monitored and orderly polling day.
