During the ongoing Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections, the Ballot Unit at a polling station in Ward No. 30 was replaced on Wednesday following a technical issue detected during the voting process.
According to election officials present at the spot, a minor malfunction was noticed in the Ballot Unit, after which immediate action was taken in line with Election Commission protocols. A technical team was promptly deployed to the polling centre, and the faulty unit was replaced to ensure that voting could continue smoothly and without disruption.
Election authorities clarified that the issue was identified at an early stage and there was no impact on votes already cast. All necessary checks were conducted before resuming the polling process, and the replacement was carried out transparently in the presence of polling officers and authorised personnel.
Officials also assured voters that the integrity of the electoral process remained intact and that all standard procedures were strictly followed. Voters were requested to remain calm and cooperate with election staff, while additional monitoring was undertaken to prevent any further technical issues.
Polling resumed shortly after the replacement, and voter turnout in the ward continued steadily. Election officials reiterated their commitment to conducting free, fair and smooth elections across all wards in the city.
