Early counting trends from across Maharashtra show the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) maintaining a strong lead in the ongoing local body elections. Of the total 2,869 seats, results or trends are available for 1,755 seats so far.
At the state level, the BJP is leading in 908 seats, well ahead of its competitors. The Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) follows with 250 seats, while the Congress is ahead in 191 seats. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is leading in 109 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) in 103, NCP (SP) in 22, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in 17, and the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) in 10 seats. Other parties and independents together are leading in 145 seats.
In the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), the results so far show a clear BJP dominance. Out of 151 seats, results are available for 143 seats. The BJP has secured 103 seats, comfortably crossing the majority mark. The Congress has won 29 seats, while other parties and independents account for 13 seats.
As counting continues for the remaining seats, the trends indicate a strong BJP performance both across Maharashtra and in Nagpur. Final results are awaited.
