Nagpur traffic authorities have announced traffic diversions around Futala Lake Chowpatty Road on January 26 in view of the large crowds expected to gather there for Republic Day celebrations.
The Sitabuldi Traffic Division noted that the annual event attracts heavy footfall, particularly from youths and local residents, leading to congestion and traffic management challenges.
To ensure the celebrations proceed smoothly and safely, vehicular movement will be prohibited on the stretch from Futala Lake (Vayusena Nagar)–Ambazari bend to Futala Lake T-point (Wada Tree). Traffic diversions have been arranged as follows:
Vehicles approaching Futala Lake from Wadi Naka will be diverted via Old Wadi Naka to Ravi Nagar. Traffic coming from Bharat Nagar will be rerouted through Amravati Road, Ravi Nagar Mahadev Mandir and Air Force Nagar.
Vehicles approaching Futala Lake from Mahadev Mandir, Telangkhedi side will be diverted at Futala Lake T-point via Air Force Road. Similarly, traffic moving from Air Force Road towards Futala Lake will be diverted via Mahadev Mandir, Telangkhedi.
Traffic personnel deployed on-site will have the authority to impose additional diversions if required, depending on the situation.
The restrictions will remain in force from 6 am to 10 pm on January 26.
Motorists have been advised to follow the traffic advisory to avoid inconvenience and ensure smooth movement during the celebrations.
