Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) celebrated the Republic Day with great enthusiasm on 26 January, 2026. At the function held at the Parade Ground in Indora, CMD WCL, Shri J. P. Dwivedi, hoisted the National Flag. He addressed Team WCL and presented awards to outstanding safety personnel.
In his address, CMD Shri J. P. Dwivedi shared the status as on 25.01.2025 stating that WCL has achieved a total coal production of 45.89 million tonnes. During the current financial year, up to 25.01.2025, WCL has dispatched 48.34 million tonnes of coal and removed 268.69 million cubic meters of overburden. Further, Shri Dwivedi highlighted the achievements of the year and expressed confidence that WCL will certainly achieve its targets of coal production, dispatch, and overburden removal for the current financial year.
WCL Director (Finance) Shri Bikram Ghosh; Director (Technical – Operations / Project & Planning) Shri Anandji Prasad; Director (Human Resources) Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande; Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre; President of Jhankar Mahila Mandal Smt. Abha Dwivedi; Vice President Smt. Roslin Ghosh; and Smt. Reena Pande were present on the occasion. Members of the Steering Committee and Welfare Board, General Managers, Heads of Departments, senior officers, and a large number of employees were also present in the program.
During the Republic Day Function, all areas of the company presented attractive tableaux that captivated everyone. The tableau of Ballarpur Area was awarded the first prize, Nagpur Area received the second prize, and Majri Area was awarded the third prize.
