A 68-year-old man was allegedly robbed of ?1 lakh in cash inside a State Bank of India (SBI) branch at Medical Square, prompting Imamwada Police to register a theft case against an unidentified accused.The incident occurred around 11 am on February 6 when the complainant, Paras Mahajan Ram, a resident of Balaji Nagar in Ajni, visited the SBI branch to withdraw money. After withdrawing ?1,00,000 through a cheque, he placed the cash in his bag and stood in a queue near the passbook printing machine.After completing the printing, the complainant noticed that the bottom of his bag had been cut open and the cash was missing. It is suspected that an unknown person discreetly slit the bag and fled with the money without being noticed.Based on the complaint, Imamwada Police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are examining CCTV footage from the bank premises and surrounding areas to identify the culprit. Further investigation is in progress.
