The Maharashtra Government has approved the release of Rs 2,353 crore for land acquisition for the Chandrapur extension of the Samruddhi Mahamarg. The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure cleared the proposal submitted by MSRDC, granting approval for the extension aimed at accelerating connectivity in the hinterland of Vidarbha.
The revised administrative sanction follows changes in the final alignment of the project. The extended corridor will begin from the Seldoh Interchange and run up to Navegaon (Mor), covering approximately 192.83 km, along with an 11.96-km Chandrapur bypass.
According to a notification issued by the Public Works Department (PWD), the sanctioned amount includes Rs 1,493.31 crore towards principal expenditure for land acquisition and Rs 860.63 crore for interest repayment. MSRDC has secured funding from HUDCO to finance the land acquisition and construction of the Chandrapur extension of the expressway.
