In a late-night anti-drug operation, Bhandewadi Police Station seized MD powder worth Rs.26,000 and arrested one accused, while another managed to escape.
The arrested accused has been identified as Aziz Ahmed Anis Ahmed (24), a resident of Wathoda. The absconding suspect is Irshad Ansari.
Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap around 3:20 am on the Bidgaon–Tarodi road near Aradhana Nagar. The accused were caught while allegedly waiting for customers to sell the narcotic substance.
During the search, police recovered 13 grams of MD powder from the accused’s possession. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and efforts are underway to arrest the absconding accused.
