The summer heat is getting hotter across the Vidarbha region, with Nagpur recording a high of 40.6 °C on Monday. The hot sun and dry weather made it difficult for people to go outside in the afternoon.
Wardha recorded the highest temperature in the region at 41.6 °C, followed by Amravati at 41.4 °C and Akola at 41.3 °C. Brahmpuri and Chandrapur both saw 40.8 °C.
Gadchiroli and Washim recorded 40.6 °C and 40.4 °C respectively, while Bhandara and Gondia were at 40.0 °C, and Yavatmal at 39.0 °C. Buldana was slightly cooler at 38.5 °C.
In total, nine cities had temperatures of 40 °C or more, showing how hot it has become across the region.
People are advised to stay indoors during the hottest hours, drink plenty of water, and take care to protect themselves from the heat.
