Maharashtra marked its 67th Foundation Day with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at official ceremonies held in Nagpur.
The main government function at the Divisional Commissioner’s office witnessed flag hoisting, tributes to the state’s rich legacy, and interaction with citizens. Greetings were extended on the occasion of Maharashtra Day and International Labour Day.Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s vision for a progressive Maharashtra was highlighted, with a collective pledge taken to work towards the state’s bright future.
Officials and employees from various departments were felicitated for their commendable contributions.At a separate function organized by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Mayor Nita Thakre hoisted the national flag and urged citizens to remain committed to building a clean, green, and sustainable Nagpur. She paid homage to martyrs of the statehood movement and extended Labour Day wishes.Prominent officials present at the events included Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari, District Collector Kumar Ashirwad, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Itankar, Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal.
The celebrations underscored Maharashtra’s legacy inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and reformers like Phule and Ambedkar, while reinforcing a unified commitment towards development and civic responsibility in Nagpur.
