As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, NTPC Mouda inaugurated the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2026 on 3rd May 2026 with a lamp lighting, followed by the NTPC Geet, addresses by officials, GEM presentation and Movie screening, cultural performances and experience-sharing sessions by GEM participants and their parents.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Joseph Bastian, HOP Mouda, welcomed all 56 participants of GEM 2026, congratulated them on their selection and reaffirmed NTPC Mouda’s commitment to empowering girls through education while wishing them a rewarding learning experience during the workshop.
The GEM 2026 workshop, scheduled from 3rd to 30th May 2026, brings together 56 girls shortlisted from 12 Zilla Parishad schools across nearby villages, offering a structured programme focused on academic learning, skill development and holistic growth through co-curricular and extracurricular activities.From 40 girls in 2022 to 60 girls in 2026, NTPC Mouda’s growing outreach reflects its continued commitment to positively impacting the lives of girls each year.
A total of 60 students were registered for the GEM Workshop 2026, of which 56 have successfully joined the program. 15 meritorious students from previous GEM batches have been enrolled in NTPC Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, with their education sponsored by NTPC up to Class XII.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Shri Joseph Bastian, Head of Project, NTPC Mouda, GMs, HODs, Head of HR, members of Samruddhi Mahila Samiti and Bal Bhavan, representatives of Union & Associations, Welfare Clubs, NTPC employees, GEM Students, their coordinators and parents, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for the GEM 2026 participants.
