Nagpur University (NU) is set to introduce several industry-oriented degree and diploma programmes from the upcoming academic session, with an emphasis on employability, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurship.
The university administration said admissions for the newly launched courses will commence soon in its autonomous academic departments. The programmes have been developed under the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) model to ensure students gain practical industry exposure along with improved employment prospects after completing their studies.
Vice-chancellor Manali Kshirsagar stated that the university is prioritising innovative and career-focused education to match evolving industry demands and rapid technological changes.
One of the major additions is the BSc (Hons) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, which aims to train students in machine learning, data analytics, and AI-based technologies that are witnessing growing demand across multiple industries.
NU will also introduce BSc (Hons) programmes in Cyber Security and Cyber Science, covering areas such as ethical hacking, cyber laws, digital security, and cyber threat management amid increasing global concerns over online safety.
Another significant programme is the BSc (Hons) in Semiconductor Material and Devices, which is expected to contribute to India’s expanding semiconductor manufacturing sector and electronics industry.
