The Maharashtra government’s Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjamukti Yojana 2025 will begin crediting loan waiver amounts directly into eligible farmers’ accounts from the second week of July, with administrative preparations now complete at the state level.
A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed the scheme’s rollout. The central government is expected to contribute ₹22,000 crore toward the scheme, with the state working out its own share. District-wise allocations discussed at the meeting include Dharashiv at ₹9,006.3 crore, Buldhana at ₹3,339.12 crore, Amravati at ₹3,119.32 crore, Jalgaon at ₹3,246.80 crore and Hingoli-Nanded at ₹3,763 crore, among others.
Under the scheme, farmers with outstanding loans up to ₹2 lakh will receive a full waiver, while those above the threshold will be offered a one-time settlement option. Regular loan repayers will receive an incentive of ₹50,000. Applications where more than 75 per cent of paperwork is complete will be processed on priority. The state has sanctioned ₹5,138 crore toward the scheme so far, with ₹3,861 crore in applications still pending.
Final beneficiary lists are being compiled through cooperative banks, gram panchayats, bank branches, Vikas Sanstha and common service centres. The entire process is being run online through the Mahayojana portal, with biometric Aadhaar authentication mandatory for all beneficiaries.
