A rare pangolin was successfully rescued from a residential area in Pandhrabodi on Saturday night after it was spotted inside the premises of a house.
According to the rescue team, information was received at around 10:15 pm on July 4 that a pangolin had been sighted at the residence of Rohit Chaudhary in Pandhrabodi. Acting swiftly, snake rescuers Ram Jamkar, Uttam Sharanagate, Vishal Darude and Nilesh Niware reached the spot and carried out a safe rescue operation.
The rescued pangolin was later handed over to the TTC Forest Department officials for further care and to facilitate its release into its natural habitat.Pangolins are among the world’s most endangered mammals and are protected under Indian wildlife laws.
Wildlife rescuers urged citizens not to harm or handle such animals and to immediately inform the Forest Department or trained rescuers if they are spotted
