The Central jail is currently in the news and surprisingly for all the good reasons. Additional Police Commissioner, Nilesh Bharne said, “The women prisoners have prepared beautiful rakhis which will has been kept on sale till August 16. They can use this training, as a source to earn money after the release.”
Bharne was speaking at the inaugural of the programme organised to display the rakhis made by the jail inmates.
At the programme, incharge of jail, Anupkumar Kumre, senior jail officer VC Wankhede, RR Bhosale, Vikas Rajanlawar, Yogesh Patil, and others. The jail inmates were given training for designing rakhis.
It may be noted that the training programme was organised with the help of Tata Trust. Along with this, the inmates are getting their hands on Powerloon, lohar, Bakery and other stuffs.Along with this, the district collector Ashwin Mudgal inaugurated the RO project for the central jail prisoners. It may be noted that fund of `30 lakh was sanctioned for the project. Water from the RO plant will be supplied directly to the barracks.
