Nash Nusrat Ali, a senior and active woman leader from Nagpur city, has been appointed National Secretary of the All India Mahila Congress Committee. The All India Congress Committee has announced the new national executive of the All India Mahila Congress, which includes eight General Secretaries and 24 Secretaries.
The appointment letter, issued by AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, described the decision as historic for the Congress organisation in Nagpur. For the first time in the past 40 years, a woman Congress worker from Nagpur city has been given representation in the National Executive Committee of the All India Mahila Congress. Nash Nusrat Ali is the first woman from the city to hold this position. She has earlier served as President of the Nagpur City Mahila Congress.
She is also the first woman from the minority community in Nagpur to be appointed to this post. Expressing her gratitude, Nash Nusrat Ali thanked the senior Congress leadership, including All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba.
She said that assigning a national-level responsibility to a grassroots woman worker reflects the party’s trust in women’s leadership. Her appointment has sparked enthusiasm among women Congress workers in Nagpur city.
