Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed all concerned agencies to ensure timely and high-quality completion of various development projects across Nagpur city. The instructions were issued during a comprehensive review meeting attended by senior officials and public representatives. The projects fall under multiple departments including the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), MSIDC, MIHAN, divisional sports complexes, medical education and healthcare infrastructure, as well as MHADA.
During the meeting, discussions were also held on developing organized urban infrastructure in densely populated areas. The Chief Minister emphasized the need to establish zonal vegetable markets, meat and fish markets, food malls, and designated hawker zones in localities with a population of over one lakh. He stressed that these projects must include proper parking facilities and directed officials to use the Integrated Development Control and Promotion Regulations (UDCPR) as a guiding framework, making necessary amendments wherever required.
The meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat under the chairmanship of Devendra Fadnavis. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, MP Maya Iwnate, MLAs Mohan Mate and Krishna Khopde, Nagpur Mayor Neeta Thakre, Additional Chief Secretary (Housing) Aseem Kumar Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari, NMC Commissioner Dr. Vipin Itankar, and District Collector Kumar Ashirwad were among those present.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also suggested adopting modern technology-driven solutions to address parking challenges in the city, emphasizing smart and sustainable urban planning.
