Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, Crime Branch Unit 2 of Nagpur Police apprehended a 22-year-old man for the brutal murder of his mother-in-law in broad daylight near Indira Convent, Civil Lines, in Sitabuldi area on Wednesday. The victim, Maya Madan Paserkar (48), was fatally stabbed in the neck with a sharp knife on the footpath opposite Kalakunj Dance Classes.
The incident took place around 1:30 pm when Maya was returning home after work. According to police, the accused, Mustafa Khan (22), a native of Palwal, Haryana, and currently residing at Gajanan Nagar on Hingna Road, had been waiting near the building where Maya worked. As she stepped out, he followed her and launched a violent attack, killing her on the spot.
