Passenger traffic at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur, has witnessed a steady rise, with more than 1.22 million passengers using the airport during the first four months of 2026. The airport also generated revenue of Rs 74.68 crore during this period, according to information obtained under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
As per the data, between January 1 and May 15, 2026, a total of 12,22,493 passengers travelled through Nagpur Airport. Of these, 6,15,196 passengers departed from Nagpur to various domestic and international destinations, while 6,07,297 passengers arrived in the city.
The increase in passenger traffic has also contributed to a significant rise in airport revenue. During the period under review, the airport earned Rs 74.68 crore through various fees and services.
The highest revenue, amounting to Rs 44.44 crore, came from User Development Fees (UDF). Aircraft operation charges generated Rs 17.43 crore, while non-aeronautical activities contributed Rs 12.04 crore to the airport’s earnings.
The RTI data further revealed that Nagpur Airport handled 360 private jet movements and 183 helicopter movements during the same period, reflecting growing aviation activity beyond commercial passenger services.
Officials attribute the growth to increasing air connectivity, rising passenger demand, and the airport’s expanding role as a key aviation hub in central India.
